About Us
Bristol Ladies Hockey Club has been bringing women's hockey to North Bristol since the 1990s. Back then, the club ran three teams, trained at Failand, and operated with a pretty ruthless selection process, cliques, power struggles, and all the drama that comes with it.
A lot has changed since then.
Today we're a single-squad club, and we think that's something to be proud of. We're competitive, we work hard, and we're always looking to improve, but we do it together, with a genuine team spirit that's hard to find elsewhere.
A club shaped by its people
Clubs like ours don't survive three decades by accident.
They survive because of people who pour themselves into them players who become coaches, umpires, organisers, and the kind of people who host cheese and wine evenings and hot tub socials just to keep the team together off the pitch.
A thank you to Linda Prosser
We recently said a heartfelt (though not final!) farewell to our coach Linda, who has given 30 years to this club as a player, coach, umpire, and goalkeeper. Her message to us was simple summed up our philosophy perfectly
focus on the fun, celebrate individual achievement, and remember that what you put into a club, it gives back tenfold.
That spirit lives on in everything we do
